New award to recognize outstanding sports performers launched

Best performing athletes in different sports disciplines starting next month will be awarded for their performance on the pitch. Football, Basketball, Rugby and Netball players are among the athletes to benefit from these awards.

The Real Star monthly awards launched Thursday 27th-Sept at Khalifa Executive suites will see the best players, best coaches and best fans appreciated for their work and efforts towards a particular sport.

The awards are aimed at improving healthy competition according to Isaac Mukasa, the executive director of the Real Stars sports Agency.

“We are launching these awards so that we improve on the competitiveness of the league, and also promote a healthy competition among the players as well as motivating and promoting hardwork” Said Isaac Mukasa.

Former Uganda Cranes Captain Andy Mwesigwa and Jackson Mayanja graced the awards and were grateful at such innovation that was never during their active years of playing football. Andy requested the awards be genuine.

" We appreaciate Real Sports Agency for this boost in Ugandan sports. I only ask that these awards be genuine." said Andy Mwesigwa.

The best performer will be selected by a panel of journalists, sponsors and will be appreciated with a customized award , shs 500.000 and fuel worth 30000 shillings.
