Lt.Gen. Gutti to be sworn in today as army court boss
Lt.Gen.Andrew Gutti has been reappointed as army court chairman.

Lt.Gen. Andrew Gutti’s is set to be sworn in for another term as chairman of the General Court Martial in Makindye.

The UPDF high command last month reappointed Gutti and his team to the General Court Martial that sits in Makindye.

Members of his team are: Maj.Sarah Navuga,Maj.Henry Serugo,Capt.Teopista Grama Opar,Capt.Paul Mugerwa,WO1 Paul Kamya,Col.James Rubahika,Maj.DM Karyabashisha,Maj.Frank Tumwesigye,WO1 Jimmy Omara,Col.Richard Tukachungurwa(Judge Advocate).

Others are: Maj.Raphael Mugisha(prosecutor),Maj John Bizimana(secretary),Capt.Charles Ssekayita(defence counsel) and Brig.Joseph Arocha

According to the UPDF Act 2005, the General Court Martial consists of a chairman who shall not be below the rank of a Lieutenant Colonel, senior officers, junior officers, a political commissar and a non -commissioned officer and these members are appointed by the High Command for a period of one year.

The court's term lasts for one year.

The court is expected to try Gen.Kale Kayihura the former Inspector General of Police who was arrested last month together with a number of senior police officers.
