Police Anti Stock Theft Unit gets new commander

Senior Superintendent of Police Muzafaru Zirabamuzaale has been appointed the commander police Anti Stock Theft Unit(ASTU) in the new changes in the police force.

ASTU is a police unit was carved from Field Force unit and is mandated to prevent theft of cattle and currently their headquarters are in Karamoja.

Zirabamuzaale has been serving in the welfare and production directorate of the police force.

AIGP Haruna Isabirye recently served as the first police director to head the unit before he was appointed director welfare and production in August last year.

The mini transfer made by AIGP Moses Balimwoyo, the Human Resource Director has also seen Assistant Commissioner of Police Deo Obura who was not deployed sent to the Albertine region as the Regional Police Commander whereas Superintendent of Police Twaha Etima from the Field Force Unit has been deployed as the Hoima DPC.

Benard Akankwasa has been transferred from Hoima to the Welfare and Production directorate.

All the transferred officers have been asked to report to their new stations immediately.

Since his appointment as the Inspector General of Police last month, Martin Okoth Ochola has made a number of transfers in the police force he is quoted to have declared dead since the departure of Gen.Katumba Wamala as IGP in 2005.
