Hearing of the murder trial against Pine car bond proprietor Muhammad Ssebuufu has resumed this morning before the High court.

Prosecution led by Micheal Ojok produced its 6th witness; a police doctor Emmanuel Nuwamanya revealed to court that he examined Sebuufu and his co-accused and found them to be of normal mental status with no fresh physical injuries at the time of examination.

While appearing before High Court Judge Flavia Ssenoga Anglin, Dr Nuwamanya said he medically examined Ssebuufu on the 26, October 2015 at Nsambya police barracks after he received a request from the Kampala Central Police Station.

The doctor also examined other suspects including; Phillip Mirambe, Godfrey Kayiza, Paul Tasingika and Steven Lwanga who were all found with no physical injuries and were also in normal mental status.

Medical reports on mental status are important in criminal trials to ascertain suspects are sane to stand trial.

Amon says he also narrowly escaped in his effort to save a client from Sebuufu's wrath.

Ssebuufu and 7 others are battling charges of murder and aggravated robbery.

State alleges that the group tortured to death businesswoman Donah Betty Katusabe after she failed to pay a 9 million shillings’ debt off a car purchase from his bond found at Lumumba Avenue in Kampala city.

The suspects also face charges of  robbery of Katusabe's phone worth Shs.300, 000.
