Sure Deal clarifies on UNBS Operation

The management of Sure Deal Beauty Centre has come out to clarify that their product do not contain harmful elements as earlier reported.

One of the managers told The Nile Post that their disagreement with the Uganda National Bureau of Standards is about the Quality Mark not the alleged use of hydroquinone, a harmful skin lightening substance that is normally used in beauty products.

"The truth is that all that information is false. Our products have certificate of analysis by both UNBS and Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI). The operation was about the use of the Q mark that we are already processing," the manager said.

He said that all their branches were open and urged the clients to continue using their products.

UNBS over the weekend raided the main branch of Sure Deal and confiscated some of their products arguing that they had been emblazoned with the Quality Mark without their approval.

The management of Sure Deal has gotten back to us and confirmed that the matter is being handled harmoniously.
