PLE: Bridge pupil excels against the odds

A few years ago, Dada Jane Nabutere, 12, did not know what the future held for her.

Now, she has an idea.

Nabutere scored 9 aggregate in the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) according to the results released today. She scored three in Mathematics, two in English, two in Science and two in Social Studies.

She has been a pupil at Bridge Malaba, which she joined in Primary Five.

Her mum, Getu Bambuya, is a teacher and her dad, Charles Wabwire, a civil servant.

Nabutere did not have a privileged childhood having grown up without the necessary resources.

She was grateful to Bridge International for providing her an opportunity to pursue a good education at minimal costs.

She told The Nile Post that she wants to be a civil servant and eventually a minister in future.

She has been top of her class for the time she has been at Bridge. Her favourite subject is English.
