Cristiano Ronaldo reveals the reason behind his 'goatee'

World Cup

Portugal and Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed the reason behind his 'goatee' following an impressive start at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The thirty three year old was on target yet again, scoring his 4th goal of the campaign against Morocco in the second round of Group B at the FIFA 2018 World Cup in Russia.

When asked the reason for his new look, Ronaldo said that the 'goatee' was meant to give him luck through out the campaign.

In his own words;

‘This goatee? It’s a joke I had with [Ricardo] Quaresma,’

‘We were in the sauna and I started to shave and I left the goatee.

‘I said if I score tomorrow [against Spain] I would leave it for the rest of the tournament.

‘And it gave me luck, I scored that game, I scored this one, so it stays.’

Ronaldo's goal against Morocco set him apart from Hungarian football legend and former manager, Ferenc Puskas to become the second player with most international career goals at 85. He is a few goals away from Iranian legend Ali Daei who tops the pack with 106 international goals.
