Spain sack manager one day to the World Cup

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has dismissed 51 year old National team coach, Julen Lopetegui with only a day to highly anticipated World Cup tournament, Nile post has learnt.

This follows the Spaniards appointment as the replacement to Zinedine Zidane and Real Madrid two days before their World Cup opening fixture against Portugal.

According to a statement on the Spanish Football Federation website, Julen Lopetegui was dismissed saying his negotiation to join Real Madrid happened "without any information to the Federation" and they can't keep him as their National team coach.

The World Cup kicks off tomorrow, Thursday 14th June 2018 in Russia with Spain in Group B against Portugal, Morocco and Iran.
