KCCA ED inspects works
The Kampala Capital City Authority Executive Director Dorothy Kisaka led a team to inspect the works in the City.
The Executive Director was however not happy with the pace of the work accusing the contractor Konoike, a Japanese firm of moving at a snail's pace. Kisaka says 50% of the funds for the job have already been disbursed but the results are yet to be seen.

The contractor could however not respond to the matter. Over 20 roundabouts are to be reconstructed to facilitate traffic lights and reduce the traffic jam in the city. However, the contractor's pace is hindering this with the deadline of April of 2025. she adds " What is happening at the fairway is, those are the kind of lights we placing at Ku bbiri, at Mortuary - 27 in total and it is a beautiful work, the only problem is the speed"
Shillings 78bn, a donation from the Japanese government will be spent on the construction works. Recently Kcca embarked on removing all roundabouts in the city and replacing them with traffic lights
