As Hajji Bateman Sadiq prepares to assume his new role as the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Tororo from kalaki district, the district politicians are cautioning him to steer clear of the district's tribal politics if he's to be sure of his smooth tenure in Tororo.
During a farewell party organized for the outgoing RDC Nixon Owole, who has been transferred to Koboko District, various leaders took the chance to issue strong advice to Sadiq.

John Okea, the district chairperson, pointed out the swift removal of a previous District Police Commander (DPC) due to his controversial involvement in local issues.
"Please be like Nixon Owole if you are to survive storms here," Okea advised, underscoring the need for neutrality.

Apollo Yeri Ofwono, the Tororo Municipality MP, warned against political bias, a pitfall he noted some previous RDCs had succumbed to.
"We have seen some RDCs involved in politics to decide who should go through and who shouldn't," Ofwono stated, highlighting the importance of impartiality.
However, some political leaders voiced concerns over the potential impact of such warnings on Sadiq's leadership capabilities.
Dr. Tanga Odoi, chairman of the NRM Electoral Commission, urged his colleagues to give Sadiq freedom to execute his duties.
"Let us give a chance for the incoming RDC to do his work. We shouldn't compare people and threaten them," Odoi said.
Despite the mixed advice, Sadiq expressed his commitment to his new role.
"I assure you that we shall always work together to ensure that we propel Tororo forward," he said, indicating his readiness to navigate the complex political landscape of Tororo.
Nixon Owole's departure marks the end of his tenure in Tororo. He's noted for his stability and positive working relationships, with many praising him for his fare handling of tribal tensions.
