Senior Presidential Advisor on the Creative Industry and award-winning artist, Eddie Kenzo, has publicly thrown his weight behind State Minister for Energy and Mineral Development, Phiona Nyamutoro, as she gears up to contest for the Nebbi District Woman MP seat in 2026.
Kenzo’s endorsement followed the circulation of a campaign poster on X (formerly Twitter), suggesting that Nyamutoro intends to challenge incumbent NRM MP Agnes Acibu in what is shaping up to be a high-stakes internal contest within the ruling party.
"Your integrity, empathy, and wisdom make you an exceptional leader! Lero pa Nebbi, Team Zim Zim 2026," Kenzo posted on his official X account, signaling full support for Nyamutoro’s anticipated bid.
Their close relationship became public on June 30, 2024, when Nyamutoro officially introduced Kenzo to her parents in a traditional ceremony.
She later took to X to share moments from the occasion, writing, “Too much more laughter, unbounded joy, and unprecedented love. Best man in the world is my best friend! Nebbi is ready.”
As speculation grows over her political ambitions, Nyamutoro’s entry into the race is expected to shake up the NRM’s internal dynamics in Nebbi, setting the stage for a potentially fierce battle come 2026.
