Deputy Resident District Commissioner Emmanuel Okware announced that the District Case and Surveillance Management Teams, along with Regional Teams and Ministry of Health officials, have initiated response measures to prevent further spread, adhering to WHO guidelines.

"The Mpox District Taskforce Team has been activated, and an emergency meeting will be held on Friday, 20th September 2024, at the DHO Boardroom," Okware said.

Health workers have stressed the need for a collaborative effort to manage the situation effectively, calling on partners to support containment measures.
