UBOS executive director Chris Mukiza says the remaining one percent to residents in gates that could not be accessible.

UBOS executive director Chris Mukiza said the remaining one percent to residents in gates that could not be accessible.

The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) has revealed that by the close of census enumeration on Sunday, May 26, overall coverage was 99 percent.

UBOS executive director Chris Mukiza told a news conference at the Statistics House that the remaining one percent to residents in gates that could not be accessible.

“The remaining one percent is attributed to the residents in gates that were not accessible, working single Household members such as workers in factories and mines, as well as those who refused to be enumerated,” Mukiza said.

“Raw data shows a significant increase in number of Households with smaller Household size compared to Census 2014,” he added.

He noted that the Bureau remains committed to the census roadmap as it embarks on data processing, editing and analysis.

He further said the preliminary resuits will be disseminated on June 24, 2024 to be followed by provisional results on September 24, 2024.

“The final report will be published on December 24,” Mukiza told journalists.

He went on to extend gratitude to all government leaders, enumerators and their supervisors for the successful census campaign.

“To the Enumerators and their Supervisors, we shall forever be grateful for your commitment and determination towards completing the assigned Enumeration Areas within allocated time,” Mukiza said.
