The app first launched for iOS in the U.S. in January 2025, later expanding to Australia and India. MacOS and Windows versions are coming soon, and Android users can pre-register for early access.

Two key features set it apart: Think Mode, which breaks down problems step by step for better understanding, and Big Brain Mode, which handles advanced queries with deeper analysis.

The standalone app offers wider access, eliminating the need for an X account or subscription. Grok 3 is available through different pricing plans. X Premium Plus includes access for $40 per month, while a SuperGrok Subscription offers additional features for $30 per month. There is also a free plan with limited access, including query caps and fewer features.
Despite its strengths, the app is still in beta, so minor bugs and refinements are expected. Free access is limited, which means frequent users may need to upgrade. Additionally, Grok’s minimal filtering could draw regulatory scrutiny.
