MTN Uganda Empowers Youth with Digital Skills

MTN Uganda's commitment to digital literacy extends beyond Northern Uganda. Similar programs have been implemented in other regions, including Western Uganda, where over 570 youth have benefited. The company aims to reach one million young people by 2025 through its Skills Academy.

Over 100 young people from Northern Uganda have graduated from MTN Uganda's Digital Literacy Program, gaining valuable computer and ICT skills. The initiative, spearheaded by MTN Foundation, aims to bridge the digital divide and empower the next generation.

The 10-day training program, conducted through MTN's Internet Bus and Skills Academy, equipped participants with essential digital skills, preparing them for higher education, entrepreneurship, and employment opportunities.

"Our goal is to create a digitally inclusive Uganda where everyone has access to the benefits of technology," said Philip Odoi, MTN's Commercial Head for Northern Uganda. "By empowering young people with digital skills, we are investing in the future of our nation."
