Kopu Pa Ubimu football tourney returns with UGX 50M boost from Pilsner Lager
By Isaano Francis The annual Kopu Pa Ubimu football tournament organized by the Alur Kingdom to celebrate the coronation anniversary of the Ker Alur cultural leader, King Ubimu Philip Olarker Rauni 111 will kick off on August 24, this year. The tournament which runs until December has received a UGX 50 million cash boost from Pilsner Lager. The football tournament is an annual event that is played by the youths in the chiefdoms in Alur kingdom and attracts 32 teams. The tournament falls into several stages beginning with the zonal level (knockout, home and away basis), second round, and quarter final, semifinal and final.
