Uganda Premier League defending champions Vipers

Sports Club have sacked Javier Martinez Espinoza as their head coach.

“Vipers SC has this evening terminated the services of

its head coach Javier Martinez Espinoza.

The club management thanks the Mexican tactician for the services rendered to

the club, ”read in part a statement released by the Kitende based club on

Saturday evening.

“Vipers SC shall in

the next 24 hours make major announcements on the new technical team.”

Espinoza’s sacking comes on the backdrop of his team

being held to a nil all draw by Tooro United earlier today in the StarTimes

Premier League to widen the gap between the Kitende based team and table

leaders KCCA FC.

Last week, Vipers exited Caf Champions league after

being beaten by Algerian side Constantine at home relegating them to the Caf

Confederation Cup where they were on Friday evening pitted against Tunisian

giants CS Sfaxien in playoffs to be played next month.

The Mexican tactician’s sacking comes only four months after

replacing Portuguese coach Miguel Da Costa who was sacked only a month after

guiding the Kitende based team to the Uganda Premier League title.

Despite being unbeaten in the StarTimes Uganda Premier

League, Espinoza’s Vipers has not performed to the expectation of the club management

and fans.
