Buweekula Ssaza has unveiled coach Michael Bukenya as the latest addition to its technical team as preparations intensify for Sunday's crucial Masaza Cup fixture against Busujju.

Bukenya expressed confidence that he can help turn around the team's fortunes and guide Buweekula back to winning ways after a difficult start to the campaign.

The appointment comes after Buweekula failed to register a victory in their opening three matches, prompting the team management to strengthen the coaching department.

Buweekula team chairman Richard Kassumba said the decision was aimed at improving the team's performance in the remaining fixtures.

"We have brought in Coach Michael Bukenya to strengthen our technical bench and help the team secure positive results in the matches ahead," Kassumba said.

Kassumba emphasised that Buweekula remains committed to supporting its coaches instead of dismissing them whenever results do not go their way.

"Buweekula is one of the few teams that does not believe in sacking coaches. The players and technical team have done everything possible to win matches, and we believe strengthening the bench is the best solution," he added.

Speaking after his unveiling, Bukenya pledged to work closely with the existing coaching staff to improve the team's performance.

"I am here to work together with the current technical team and ensure that Buweekula performs better this season," Bukenya said.

The experienced tactician noted that his previous involvement in the Masaza Cup gives him the knowledge and experience required to help the team recover.

"I have experience in this competition and I will do everything possible to ensure that Buweekula gets back on track," he said.

With Buweekula set to host Busujju on Sunday at the National Teachers' College (NTC) grounds in Mubende, Bukenya believes the encounter presents the perfect opportunity for the team to secure its first victory of the season.

"The match against Busujju is one we must win. We are preparing well, and our target is to collect maximum points," Bukenya stated.

Buweekula supporters who attended the team's training session welcomed Bukenya's arrival and expressed optimism about the team's chances of improving its performance.

Bukenya joins Buweekula from Singo Ssaza, where he served as assistant coach.
