Speculation about Magogo’s future at the football governing body has intensified in recent days following allegations of corruption and reports linking him to investigations into the management and accountability of Ugandan football.
The rumours also emerged after security operatives searched properties belonging to his wife and others associated with Speaker of Parliament Anita Among.
But speaking during a dinner organised to celebrate Uganda’s qualification for the Fifa U-17 World Cup, Magogo insisted that no one had approached him to resign from office.
“Nobody has called me for any meeting to resign, so be calm. We have work to do and we are going to make sure that we prepare this team for the World Cup in the best possible way,” he said.
The FUFA president used the occasion to praise the media for its continued support of Ugandan football and urged stakeholders to remain focused as preparations for the Fifa U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026 gather momentum.
Uganda secured qualification for the tournament after overcoming Ghana 8-7 in a penalty shootout following a 2-2 draw, sealing a second consecutive appearance at the competition.
Magogo said the achievement shows Uganda is steadily progressing towards its ambition of becoming one of Africa’s leading football nations.
“Uganda is among the six countries that have qualified for the Under-17 World Cup back-to-back. It is only Egypt, Mali, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Senegal and Uganda that have done so. So we can believe,” he said.
