The Corporate Games Uganda 2026 Season continued its “Season of Vibes” with a Wellness Outing held on Sunday, April 12 at the JIU Campus, bringing together corporate teams for a day of sport, fitness, and networking.
The standout moment of the day came from 67-year-old Dafala Khalil of TrackNav SMC Ltd, who featured in the football action and drew wide admiration from participants. His presence on the pitch delivered a strong message that fitness and active living have no age limit, becoming one of the most talked-about highlights of the outing.
The event also featured notable participation from senior corporate executives who joined employees on the field in various sporting activities. Among them were the Executive Director of the Capital Markets Authority, the Managing Director of Unifi, and the CEO of TrackNav SMC Ltd. Their involvement highlighted a growing shift toward embedding wellness into corporate culture across Uganda.
The Executive Director of the Capital Markets Authority, Josephine Okui Ossiya, said the outing provided a strategic engagement platform as the institution marked a key milestone.
She said, “As the Capital Markets Authority marks 30 years of existence, this platform provides a unique opportunity to fulfill our mandate by tapping into the diverse audience present at the games. It is the perfect environment to engage with the public while celebrating our three-decade milestone.”
Corporate Games Uganda Chairman Ian Rumanyika emphasized that wellness remains central to the initiative. He said, “Corporate wellness is at the heart of everything we do this season. We are building a culture where physical health is a priority in every organization. For those looking to join this movement, registration is still open for new teams to come on board and experience the benefits of a healthy workforce.”
The day began at 8:00 AM with mass aerobics led by Celebrity Fitness, followed by a colourful opening parade that set the tone for a full schedule of activities.
Participants competed across multiple disciplines including football, basketball, woodball, tug of war, and the newly introduced Zebra Boxing, while cultural performances by Jenva Ngoma Arts kept energy levels high throughout the day.
Media coverage was provided by UBC sports journalist Peter Otai, who delivered live commentary during football fixtures, while NBS Sport conducted live interviews with executives and players, bringing the atmosphere of the event to a wider national audience.
Outstanding performers were recognized through partner activations, with Stabex International awarding gas cylinders to top athletes, while Blacklyf provided wearable technology and audio gadgets to standout professionals as part of wellness support initiatives.
Ruby Hospital served as the official medical partner, offering standby emergency services with an Advanced Life Support ambulance stationed in the designated red zone. The event also benefited from production support by MovingAds and arrival coverage by High 5 Media.
The outing concluded with a strong sense of unity as participants gathered for the awards ceremony.
Organizers noted that the initiative continues to grow beyond sport into a broader wellness movement promoting fitness, teamwork, and corporate engagement. Monthly outings are set to continue through November as Corporate Games Uganda expands its nationwide corporate wellness platform.
