Hoima District Woman Member of Parliament, Harriet Businge, has called on companies in the oil and gas sector to increase their budgets for corporate social responsibility (CSR), particularly in the Bunyoro sub-region.

Businge made the appeal while speaking as the chief guest during belated World Press Freedom Day celebrations held at Hoima Buffalo Hotel.

The event was organized by the Hoima Media Sacco in partnership with CNOOC Uganda.

“There is a need for increased budget allocation for CSR activities by companies operating in Bunyoro, especially those in the oil and gas sector,” Businge said.
