KAMPALA — An unforgettable evening of legacy, rhythm, and ambition unfolded at the Uganda Golf Club on April 16 as MARU Credit hosted its sixth edition of the MARU Credit Club Nite, themed “Timeless Tees.”
The event fused golfing brilliance with the timeless music of Uganda’s beloved Afrigo Band, reaffirming the financial institution’s deepening relationship with the sporting and business communities in Kampala.
Launched six months ago as a platform to engage with golfers and entrepreneurs, the MARU Credit Club Nite has quickly grown into a signature social fixture.
From the buzz on the green to the dance floor, the latest edition drew a vibrant crowd of professionals, sports enthusiasts, and clients — all brought together by the shared values of excellence, resilience, and connection.

“When we first sponsored Club Nite, we envisioned a platform where ambition meets opportunity – a vision mirrored in our core mission,” said Joshua Mazune, the Managing Director of MARU Credit.
“Just as we provide solutions to bridge financial gaps, events like this bridge passion with purpose.”
The "Timeless Tees" theme celebrated more than just the sport of golf. It invoked a spirit of continuity and legacy, drawing parallels between the discipline of the game and MARU Credit’s steady rise as a trusted lender in Uganda’s financial landscape.

The mood was further elevated by the iconic sounds of Afrigo Band, whose enduring melodies provided a nostalgic soundtrack to the night.
Mazune reflected on the symbolic power of the event’s elements: “Timeless Tees, timeless music, timeless connections – this is perfectly aligned with the MARU brand.
"Tonight’s theme speaks to the enduring spirit of golf – a game where skill meets legacy.
"But timelessness isn’t just about the game; it’s about the moments we create. I am confident that just like Afrigo Band’s melodies, tonight’s event will leave a permanent mark on our hearts.”
Recognition of golfing talent formed a key part of the evening, with standout players awarded across various categories.
Bertram Mpora and Judith Komugisha emerged overall winners in the men’s and ladies’ categories respectively, while Mark Rubatsimbira was the top guest performer.
Other winners included Andrew Opio and Jerry Owachi in Groups A and B for men, with Wendy Angudeyo and Hasifa Karungi leading their respective groups among the women.

Applause and camaraderie flowed as much as the evening’s refreshments, each trophy reinforcing the Club Nite’s mission to celebrate skill, persistence, and growth.
“MARU Credit isn’t just a sponsor; we’re a partner in growth – on the green, in boardrooms, and in communities,” Mazune added.
“Whether it’s funding an entrepreneur's next venture or supporting a golfer’s swing, we’re here to ensure that progress never stalls.”
With branches in Bugolobi and Ntinda, MARU Credit has built a reputation for delivering vehicle financing, logbook loans, and business capital with efficiency and flexibility.
The Club Nite initiative reflects the company’s larger goal: to not only lend money, but to also invest in moments that inspire progress.
