Fans Carrying Political Messages to Be Removed at Uganda vs. Guinea Match

Police have issued a firm directive ahead of Uganda’s World Cup qualifier against Guinea, warning that any fans carrying political messages inside Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, will be removed by security personnel.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango stressed that the match should remain a football event, not a political platform.

“As we prepare for 2026, political campaigns have already begun, but we will not permit any political posters, T-shirts, banners, or flags in the stadium. If anyone tries to sneak in political materials, security personnel inside the stadium will remove them,” Onyango stated.
