“Ugandan footballers lack honesty; they turn against you due to their lack of a strong mindset, especially considering where they come from,” Kenzo said.
“If I try to guide you and you refuse to listen, it is not my fault. I give up on you and move on to help someone else,” he added.
Kenzo’s early football career began with a bursary from SC Villa Jogoo, one of Uganda’s top football clubs, which helped him further his education.
However, despite his promising future in sports, Kenzo made the decision to shift his focus to music, a career that has earned him national and international recognition.
In his interview, Kenzo also spoke about his deep-rooted love for football, saying that his passion for the sport was innate.
"I used to follow football very closely when I wasn’t yet a star, especially when I was on the streets of Masaka. I supported players like Mawejje Tony and was their fan," Kenzo recalled.
He further shared how football eventually pulled him off the streets and connected him with influential figures like Sam Mubiru and Ismail Kigozi, who played a key role in his journey.
