MTN MoMo launches prize campaign to enhance bill payments

MTN Mobile Money (U) Limited, has announced the launch of its latest campaign, "Pay Bills with MoMo & Win," aimed at enhancing convenience and accessibility of bill payments using MTN MoMo across Uganda.

According to the telecom, the campaign not only underscores MTN MoMo's commitment to innovation but also aligns with Ambition 2025, which aims to ensure that everyone deserves the benefits of a modern connected life.

“At MTN MoMo, we understand that paying bills is more than just a transaction - it's about maintaining access to the essentials of modern life.

"Whether it's keeping the lights on, staying connected to your favorite TV shows, or ensuring access to clean water, MoMo makes it all possible with a safe, fast, and convenient system.” the company said.

Commenting on the launch, Jemima Kariuki, the Chief Product Officer at MTN MoMo, expressed enthusiasm about the campaign.

"The 'Pay Bills with MoMo & Win' campaign embodies our commitment to empowering Ugandans with access and convenience. At MTN MoMo, we understand that bill payments are a crucial aspect of everyday life, and our goal is to make this process as simple and rewarding as possible,”Kariuki stated.

“Through this campaign, we are not only providing our customers with a safe and secure platform for bill payments but also offering them the chance to win exciting rewards."

Accordingly, in addition to the convenience of using MoMo for bill payments, customers will have the opportunity to win exciting rewards, where every month, MTN MoMo will randomly select and reward 1,500 customers who have made bill payments using MoMo with Shs10,000 each.

The "Pay Bills with MoMo & Win" campaign is a testament to MTN's Ambition 2025, which aims to bridge the digital divide and ensure that everyone is included or has access to the benefits of a modern connected life.

Terms and Conditions

According to MTN, top six billers will be identified for the reward programme based on transaction volume and strategic importance.

Customer must be active 30 days on MTN MoMo-Registered subsribers. In addition to that, customer must be inactive 60 days on bill payments Services such as; NWSC, DStv, StarTimes, UEDCL and WENRECO.

“All transaction amounts are eligible for a reward. The percentage reward is strategically to allow customers transacting low value transactions to win.”

Additionally, all payments made by customers via both USSD and App will be considered in this reward program.

The campaign promises to offer a convenient and rewarding solution for bill payments, which is also part of MTN MoMo’s efforts to connect and empower millions of Ugandans.

“Customers can use the MTN MoMo app or dial *165*4# to pay their bills anytime, anywhere, without the hassle of visiting physical locations or standing in long queues,” MTN states.
