Strategic investment forum chief, Libyan deputy president discuss opportunities in EA

The Chief Executive of the East Africa Strategic Investment Forum, Paul Bamutaze, has held strategic talks with the Libyan Deputy President Musa Al-Koni who also doubles as the Vice Chair Person of the Presidential Council of Libya.

This was on Saturday, March 4, during Bamutaze’s visit to Tripoli, the capital city of Libya.

In their discussion, they engaged on areas of investment between Libya and the East African community countries.

It should be noted that Libya has fostered great relations with the East African Community Countries and this engagement is expected to provide great opportunities for trade for both Libya and the East African Community.

The East African Community is an intergovernmental organization composed of eight member states in East Africa: Burundi, DRC, Somalia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.

The EAC primarily focuses on economic integration, regional cooperation, and development initiatives among its member states.

The East Africa Strategic Investment Forum is a platform that provides one market place that aims to enable the East African Countries attract investment from foreign economies as one.

Bamutaze, expressed optimism that the meeting with many others to follow with other heads of states will go along way in opening doors for investment in East Africa and Africa at large.

According to Bamutuze, the East African region presents investment opportunities in various fields including but not limited to; infrastructure development, renewable energy, and agriculture.

Other key areas of investment include; agribusiness, tourism and hospitality, IT, manufacturing and industrialization, health care.
