President Museveni rallies born again Christians on wealth creation

President Museveni has asked pastors to not only focus on preaching the gospel according to the Bible but also focus on wealth creation.

Museveni’s message was read by the Minister for Energy, Ruth Nankabirwa during the closing ceremony of this year’s East Africa fire and anointing pastors’ conference at Nsambye Sharing Hall.

 “It is a sin to saw you are well off in terms of religion yet your followers are poor. Don’t only end at spending time in church worshiping but also focus on wealth creation to get out of poverty,” Museveni said.

“You cant be you are saved and follow Jesus Christ when you are in the darkness of poverty. All Christians should engage in wealth creation. Just like Jesus worked with his father Joseph as carpenters but also preached the gospel, everyone should engage in work. It is foolhardy to say you only focus on preaching the gospel and not engaging in wealth creation.”

Museveni says Christians can engage in commercial agriculture, services and ICT .

Ernest Benjamin Kivumbi, the president of the Heal the Planet Global organization who organized the conference hailed American philanthropist, president and founder of Breath of the Spirit International Ministries Dr. Michelle Corral for attending the event.

He also applauded him for playing a leading role in donating to Ugandans in need .

During the function, the First Lady, Janet Museveni was represented by Bishop Joshua Lwere and in her message, asked Christians to engage in poverty alleviation.
