Kyagulanyi who was being flanked by the party Secretary general Lewis Rubongoya and Mityana MP Francis Zaake asked masses to borrow a leaf from Kenyans who organised peaceful protests.
He said that people should not allow any one to force them to be violent but rather do a peaceful protest to fight for their rights.
“I want to call on you the people of Ntungamo that when you see fire coming from Kampala, kindly join from this side. I want to request the youth from here that we should use an example of Nairobi Kenya. Don’t be violent. Don’t allow anyone to tell you to be violent but I want you to know that its your right to protest . I emphasize that it’s your right to protest if you are protesting peacefully," he said.
“For us we don’t want power but what we want is leadership. We want to be your leaders when you are our bosses. "
Fred Nyanzi, the head of mobilisation in NUP said the party is set to front candidates at all positions during the forthcoming 2026 general elections.
