At the joint Good Friday commemoration organized by the Uganda Joint Christian Council, held at the Old Kampala SS playground, Kyofatogabye Kabuye urged Ugandans to pray for fairness, both in their personal lives and in national dealings.
Speaking to our cameras, Kabuye shared, "My prayer today is twofold.
Personally, I seek healing from the pain I am enduring, and I ask for God's blessings upon my family and financial provision."
Kabuye also emphasized a collective prayer for the nation: "Let us pray for our country, that everyone may treat one another fairly, just as President Museveni teaches us.
It is vital that we embody fairness in our actions and interactions for the good of the nation."
This prayer comes at a time when the country has been marred by several cases of human rights violations, most recently the violent Kawempe North by-election, which saw several stakeholders, including candidates and journalists, enduring brutal attacks.
The implementation of the Supreme Court ruling on civilian trials in military courts also remains a work in progress.
These and more make it all the more important for every Ugandan to earnestly partake, stand in the gap with Kyofatogabye, and indeed pray for a just and peaceful nation.
