The body of a 70-year-old woman, Alice Nakee, has been found floating in a river on Monday in Apeded Village, Namalu Sub County, Nakapiripirit District.
Nakee went missing on May 10, 2025, after a heated argument with her neighbour over a land boundary.
She was last seen near the disputed area.
Residents believe she may have been strangled and dumped in the river. “The two neighbors have had many disagreements over the years,” said Josephine Aguma, a resident of Namalu.
Police have opened a case file and launched an investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
No arrests have been made, but police say they are treating the case as suspicious.
