Police release report on fatal accident of Karamoja NRM boss Aleper
Police have released an incident report detailing the tragic death of Simon Peter Aleper, the NRM Vice Chairperson for Karamoja and former Member of Parliament for Moroto Municipality.
According to the police, the fatal accident occurred at 1am at Bukoona along the Iganga-Tirinyi Highway.

Aleper, who was driving a white Toyota V8 with registration number UAP 787Q, died instantly when his vehicle collided with another, yet-to-be-identified vehicle heading to Mbale
"The vehicle, which is still at large, lost control and veered, knocking the victim's vehicle," AIP Brian Magoola OC Iganga Police Station said.
Pictures released by the police show significant damage to Aleper's vehicle, with a huge dent on the driver's side, suggesting the severity of the collision and the probable cause of Aleper's immediate death.
The loss of Aleper Simon Peter has sent shockwaves through the Karamoja region and beyond, with many mourning the sudden and tragic end of a dedicated public servant's life.
