Man dies in hospital after hit-and-run accident
Simon Longoria, a 52-year-old resident of Kaigenoi Village in Karita Town Council, Amudat District, has succumbed to injuries after being knocked by a motorcycle in a hit-and-run accident.
The incident happened on July 12, after which Longoria was admitted to Amudat Hospital in critical condition.
According to an eye witness, the motorcyclist was speeding.
"He was speeding towards Karita Town Council while the deceased was walking in the opposite direction," James Chebet, a resident of Karita told Nile Post.
The police are still searching for the suspect who fled the scene, and an investigation is ongoing to identify him.
"We are still on the lookout for the rider and the motorcycle. We will inform the public of any progress in the case once investigations are complete," Mike Longole, Karamoja Police spokesperson, said.
