NRM Restarts Registration Update in Tororo After Dispute

A disagreement over appointments halted the NRM party register update in Tororo, Uganda. NRM members boycotted the process after the Secretariat picked a new registrar without consulting local leaders.

Talks between Tororo leaders and the NRM Secretariat ironed out the issues, and the update restarted with training for village registrars. This emphasis on local involvement seems promising, according to MP Fredrick Angura.

However, concerns linger in Bukedi sub-region. Leaders there question the timing of the program's end and its effectiveness overall. NRM member Ivan Nangulu expressed doubts about the program's success in Bukedi.

The update continues in Tororo until next Sunday, with a strong focus on preventing foreigners, especially Kenyans, from registering.
