NUP Kawempe Leaders Warn Against Unauthorized Signature Collection for Bobi’s Presidential Bid
Kawempe NUP leaders have cautioned party members against individuals collecting signatures for Robert Kyagulanyi’s presidential campaign without official approval, stressing the importance of verifying authentic party materials.

National Unity Platform (NUP) leaders in Kawempe, led by Chairperson Emmanuel Sserunjogi and Kampala Metropolitan NUP officials, have issued a stern warning over unauthorized individuals gathering signatures purportedly for Robert Kyagulanyi’s presidential bid.

The warning follows reports of unidentified persons, unfamiliar to the Kampala Metropolitan area, canvassing support and circulating images allegedly linked to the upcoming campaign.

“We have received numerous complaints about people claiming to be NUP members collecting signatures without our knowledge or authorization,” Sserunjogi said, urging members to exercise caution.

During a press conference that unveiled the official campaign portrait, party officials emphasized the importance of engaging only with verified representatives.

Senior NUP officials expressed concerns that the unauthorized activities could undermine the campaign, compromise supporters’ information, or involve fraudulent practices.

The leadership has initiated an internal investigation and pledged to pursue legal action against violators, while reinforcing internal procedures to manage election activities transparently.

A procession through Kawempe carrying the official campaign portrait underscored the authenticity of approved materials and reminded supporters to remain vigilant and united behind Kyagulanyi’s candidacy.
