A team from the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) in Katakwi District has crossed over to the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.
The team, led by former FDC district leader Martin Omedo Odaka and accompanied by Stella Jane Aguti, was received by Captain Mike Mukula, vice chairperson of NRM in Eastern Uganda.
"We are excited to welcome our new colleagues from FDC to the NRM family," said Mukula. "Their decision to join us is a testament to the NRM's commitment to unity and development."
The crossover event was also attended by Richard Odekete Opio, NRM district chairman, and lawyer Okiror. This development is seen as a significant boost to the NRM's presence in the region.
Katakwi District has been a hub of political activity, with various parties vying for influence.
The NRM has been working to strengthen its foothold in the region, and this crossover is seen as a strategic move in that direction.
