The National Unity Platform (NUP) has launched its membership registration exercise in Bukomansimbi district, with a call to unity and inclusivity.

The event, held at the sub county headquarters of Bigasa in Bukomansimbi North and Butenga in Bukomansimbi South, was led by Bukomansimbi South MP Geofrey Kayemba Ssolo, Bukomansimbi North MP Hon.Christine Ndiwalana, and Woman MP Veronica Nanyondo.

While launching the exercise, Kayemba Ssolo called for unity among party members during this exercise.

"We urge all members to put aside their political differences and come together in this exercise," said Ssolo. "Let us focus on building a strong and united party that represents the interests of our people."

Kayemba , also urged all the registrants to spread the registration message wherever they were including worship places and those with businesses to tell each customer whom they receive to get NUP cards If they are interested.

Ndiwalana emphasized the importance of inclusivity, saying, "We welcome all those who are willing to join NUP, even if they were previously registered with NRM or other parties. Our doors are open to all who share our vision for a better Uganda."

Veronica Nanyondo also stressed the need for unity, saying, "We must work together as a team to achieve our goals. It does not matter who you support, National Unit platforz is for all of us because we can go but NUP will remain. Let us register in large numbers and show our strength as a party."

The registration exercise, which will continue for several weeks, aims to capture the details of all NUP members in the district in a red book. This will help the party to strengthen its structures and prepare for future elections.

The MPs urged all eligible members to participate in the exercise, which is open to all citizens of Uganda who are 18 years and above.

"We want to create a strong and vibrant party that represents the voices of our people," said Ndiwalana. "Let us make this registration exercise a success."

In the 2021 general elections, the National Unit Platform took all the big positions in Bukomansimbi including the district chairperson and the council 90% of the councilors are from NUP.

They have said that with this registration exercise, in the coming elections in 2026, they are very sure that they will take the leadership of not only Bukomansimbi, but also the whole country at large by 100%.
