Dr. Besigye and his FDC-Katonga group were welcomed by their supporter’s form Kahegye, border of Ntugamo and Rukungiri, heading to town, transport was pararised putting movement of vehicles to halt.

It took Besigye and the group to reach Rukungiri main stadium close to one hour due to heavy convoy of boda bodas and cars that caused jam on Rukungiri high way.

Retired Col Dr. Kiiza Besigye announced his return to politics as crowds welcomed him to his home district of Rukungiri. In what one would describe as a triumphant entry; it took Besigye one and a half to make his way through the crowds for a distance of one kilometer.

It’s here that Dr. Besigye announced that he is back in full time politics.

“I have been relaxed from politics, but now am back” Besigye asserted.

He also questioned the code of conduct of first son Gen. Muhoozi Keinerugba and Chief of defense forces, claiming that he was recruited in the army wrongly.

“The first son of President Museveni was recruited in the army wrongly  because in the army, one is taught on how to behave. But the way I see Muhoozi behaving, clearly tells me that he doesn’t qualify to be in the army.” Besigye highlights.

Referring to first son Gen Muhoozi Keinerugaba, Besigye noted that there are always people fond of breaking the law and they walk scot free, assuring the people of Rukungiri that the struggle is still alive and ready to lead the front.

“Keinerugaba has on so many times seen moving around the country holding rallies and yet he is a serving army officer, but to my surprise I have seen him doing all things which are against the law, but there’s nothing done to him. I want to tell you Rukungiri people, that the struggle is not yet done, but rather we have to continue in the struggle."

In Rukungiri, Dr. Besigye’s supporters collected funds to support his cause and see him traverse the whole country.

Dr. Besigye and his team concluded their consultative tours within the Kigezi sub-region and  will hit the road to Bushenyi district, where they hope to continue with their consultative meetings.
