He thanked all committee members for their efforts and the time they have invested in the preparations. “Our committees have done a great job, and I would like to thank them for the commendable work they have done,” he added.

Abubaker Birungi, the Deputy Resident District Commissioner, also assured the public of tight security during the event. “We are very sure that our people will be protected. Let’s all come on Sunday to welcome our President,” said Birungi.

The meeting was attended by top leaders of Mubende District, including Honourable David Kabanda, the MP for Kassambya County, District Chairperson Micheal Muhereza Ntambi, and other dignitaries from the Office of the President.

During the meeting, committee members expressed their appreciation to the National Organising Committee for the support extended to the district.

“We are very grateful to the National Organising Committee for their support, and we want to assure all Ugandans that we are more than ready to host the celebrations,” said the committee members.

Micheal Muhereza Ntambi, the District Chairperson for Mubende, emphasised the need to mobilise residents to attend the event in large numbers.

“Let’s make history as we host the first-ever Liberation Day celebrations in Mubende, and let’s show love to our president on Sunday,” said Ntambi.

David Kabanda, the Kasambya County MP, urged Mubende residents to keep time to avoid inconveniences.

“We all know that national events are strict. Let’s encourage our people to arrive on time because once the president enters the venue, it becomes difficult for people to access due to security protocols,” Kabanda advised.
