Treason trial for 19 suspects flops after key witness gets diarrhoea at court

Trial into treason case against nineteen Muslims has failed to kick off at the high court after prosecution informed court that their only available witness for the day was unwell.

Lino Anguzu a principal state attorney told high court judge Wilson Masalo Musene that it was unfortunate that the prosecution wasn't able to proceed with further hearing.

He added; “the witness is at court but has informed us that he is completely feeling unwell.”

When asked the witness whose names weren't revealed informed the judge that they have acute diarrhea and need time.

“'I am having acute diarrhoea. I need time,” the witness said.

The judge then adjourned the matter to next week 28, February 2018.

“State should ensure that they have two or three witnesses available and the current witness should seek best medical attention,” Musene ruled.

19 people including; one woman Aisha Nakasibante a sister in-law to Australian based cardiologist Dr. Aggrey Kiyingi are facing two counts of treason and concealment of treason.
