NSSF aims at shs20 trillion asset base as it launches modern corporate centre

National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has unveiled a modern corporate centre in a bid to efficiently serve institutions whose employees save with the fund.

Speaking at the function held at workers’ house on Wednesday, NSSF Managing Director Richard Byarugaba said the fund’s current asset base is at shs7.9 trillion but noted this would soon reach the shs9 trillion mark.

“From assets worth shs1.3 trillion six years ago, we are looking at meeting our target of Shs20 trillion worth of assets in the next five years,”Byarugaba said.

“We want to move focus from customer service to customer engagement by creating a proactive and exciting customer experience.”

He noted that the corporate centre does not replace but rather supplements the fund’s online e- collections system by providing a one point of contact with their staff on any issues related to contributions to NSSF.

Byarugaba added that Shs250 million has been realised through the mobile platform and increased voluntary contributions from non- members.

“Our services will continue to improve so as we become the social provider of choice for the country.”
