Commonwealth Games: 23 boxers battle for 10 slots

The Uganda Boxing Federation has set the 17th of March as the date for the final trials to select 10 boxers that will feature for Uganda at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia.

A total of 23 boxers are still in contention for the 10 slots.

Incoming UBF president Moses Muhangi met 17 of the 23 for the first time in his new capacity.

At the same event, the UBF released their year’s boxing calendar with intermediaries set for 10th – 17th February, the National Boxing Open championships scheduled for  3rd -10th March while the much anticipated final audition for the Commonwealth Games will take place on March 17.

In the history of the Commonwealth, Uganda has won 47 medal with boxing taking the loin share of 35.
