Malwa seller beats Budaka LC5 incumbent in NRM primaries
A little known philanthropist Pajje Emmanuel emerged winner of the Budaka District LC V NRM flag bearer after thumping the incumbent Samuel Mulomi.
Pajje who has been toiling a living selling malwa and pork at his popular 'Parliament pub' garnered 24198 votes representing 31% against 14357 votes representing 19% of the incumbent Samuel Mulomi.

The Budaka NRM District registrar Joseph Eric Kivunike declared Mr.Pajje winner of the party flag at about 10 pm on Friday Last week.
The declaration was ushered in by thunderous jubilations in several sub-counties across the district till dawn despite the curfew.
Seven candidates had participated in this race, they include; former Budaka County MP and councilor Kakule sub-county Nicholas Davis Gole who got 17439 votes representing 23%, Mr. Amisi Magona 11747 representing 15%.
Others are; Mr. Samuel Mubalya, 3862 votes representing 5% former speaker Abdu Mugoda 4847 representing 6%, and Kefa Nayepe the Mugiti sub-county Councillor trailed with 455 votes representing 1%.
However, Although the rest of the contenders conceded defeat, a visibly puzzled incumbent Samuel Mulomi contested the outcome saying the elections were not free and fair as expected.
He vowed to return to the race as an independent candidate.
While welcoming his victory Pajje said "this victory is not only for me but for all people who needed to see change at their dying district.
He asked his jambula faction to continue drumming for support in the final elections to enable him to go and weed out the chronic corruption, tribalism unemployment imbalance that has dogged the district.
Pajje’s victory despite his poverty-stricken but humble background according to sources sets sharp precedence in Bugwere politics which has traditionally been monetized.
This follows the coming of new and young faces with Kasibo Joshua also taking up the MP flag after campaigning for only two weeks.
This has left the incumbents crying foul with hopes of coming as independents.
Meanwhile, results from Pallisa and Kibuku districts have not yet been released.
It's said that the incumbents Okurut Micheal (Pallisa) and Kadyama Charles (Kibuku) are trailing their competitors.
It's alleged that the duo is now using state mercenaries to falsify the results to favor them.
In Kibuku district, state minister for local government Jennifer Namuyangu is on spot for using her position to meddle in the exercise with an intent to favor Charles Kadyama. yet provincial results indicate Nakeba Mohammed in the lead
However, Cyrus Samson Omara the RPC North Bukedi says last Friday’s elections were peaceful unlike the previous one for MPs.
He said few incidents had cropped up in Kibuku and Pallisa but security responded swiftly.
