Five killed in Kiryadongo accident 

Five people were killed on Friday afternoon and another injured critically in a fatal motor accident in Kiryandongo district along the Kampala-Gulu Highway.

The accident occurred at Wakisaanyi when a Prado vehicle registration number UAY 727Q collided with a bus belonging to HMK company registration number UAQ 045Q.

According to Charles Ssebambulidde, the Public Relations Officer Traffic Directorate, the driver of the Prado that was destined for Kampala, attempted to overtake three vehicles in a row leading to a head-on collision with an oncoming bus that was moving to the opposite direction.

Ssebambulidde identified the deceased as Robert Ssuubi Irumba, a resident of Town Council in Wakiso, Moses Mukwaya from Njeru Town council in Buikwe district and Corporal Ronald Twebembeire, a police officer who driving the Prado. The bodies of male victims are yet to be identified.

He said the injured accident victim, who is yet to be identified, is admitted at Kiryandongo hospital. The bodies of the deceased are lying at Kiryandongo hospital mortuary.

 According to Police, although the bus veered off the road, none of the passengers on board was injured.
