“The friend he went with is unknown to us. His mother and I are contacting relatives and friends to find out where he could be,” Mao posted on his facebook page.

The opposition stalwart said efforts by the family to contact the son’s relatives and friends to find out his whereabouts have since turned futile prompting them to mount a search for him.

“His friends at Watoto Church North where he plays guitar in the church band also said they haven’t seen him or heard from him.”

Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango confirmed the disappearance of the 19-year-old student of Vienna College and noted that investigations into the same have started.
