Museveni jets off to Angola to meet Kagame

Featured

President Museveni has left for Angola’s capital Luanda, for a quadripartite summit as part of the continuation of the dialoguing process aimed at finding a lasting solution to the differences between Rwanda and Uganda.

The summit is hosted by President Joao Manuel Lourenco and is attended by DR Congo President Felix Tshisekedi, Rwanda President Paul Kagame and President Museveni.

Museveni and Kagame are expected to sign an agreement bringing to an end tensions between the two neighbouring countries that led to the closure of the border in March.

In July this year, the heads of state discussed security issues on the borders of the three countries including relations between Uganda and Rwanda.

They also discussed the ebola epidemic in the DR Congo and committed to work together to prevent the spread of the epidemic.

The President was seen off at Entebbe International Airport by the Minister for the Presidency Esther Mbayo, the Head of Civil Service John Mitala and Chief of Defence Forces General David Muhoozi.

Others to see him off were AIGP Andrew Sorowen and the Acting Director of Human Rights in Uganda Prisons Service Ahimbisibwe David.
