AFCON Proceeds: KCCA FC’s Patrick Kaddu joins Moroccan giants Berkane

The African Nations Cup, the most prestigious tournament on the continent might have ended over a month ago but blessings are continuing to pour for Uganda.

On Tuesday, KCCA FC’s Patrick Kaddu also joined the ranks of other players who have forced moves for greener pastures after the tournament in Egypt.

The striker whose goal guided Uganda to the 2019 Afcon finals qualification was on Tuesday evening announced officially as player for Moroccan side, Rennaissance Sportive Berkane after a completing a successful move to  North African.

“KCCA FC would like to confirm that the club has agreed terms with RS Berkane for the transfer of Kaddu Henry Patrick pending completion of the necessary paperwork,” KCCA FC said in a tweet.

Subsequently, photos from Morocco indicated that the striker had agreed terms with the team and put pen to paper on a four year deal with the team that was beaten in the finals of the Caf Confederation Cup early this year.

Kaddu, famously known for his monkey style dance becomes the third player from the Uganda Premier League giants to move for greener pastures in the current transfer window, with Timothy Awany,(Ashdod, Israel) and  Allan Kyambadde(El Gouna, Egypt) opening the door for him.

The striker’s move is also the 11th player after Mike Azira(Chicago Fire- USA),Abdul Lumala (Pyramids – Egypt), Emmanuel Okwi (Al Ittihad – Egypt), Taddeo Lwanga (Tanta SC – Egypt), Khalid Aucho (Misr El Mikassa – Egypt) and Hassan Wasswa (Jeddah Club – Saudi Arabia) after the AFCON to move for greener pastures.

Uganda was ejected from the 2019 AFCON finals at the round of 16 when they fell to Sadio Mane’s Senegal but was applauded for a good display during the group games.
