African Stars: KCCA FC opponents arrive ahead of crunch Caf Champions League tie

Namibian side African Stars FC has arrived in Uganda ahead of their crunch Caf Champions League return leg with KCCA FC on Friday.

KCCA FC lost their first leg qualifying game 3-2 in Nambia a fortnight ago and will be hoping to overturn the result to progress to the next stage.

Speaking after arrival at Entebbe Airport on Monday night, African Stars head coach, Muhammad Fargo said they are here to see off the Kasasiro boys’ dreams.

“We are here to show KCCA FC a good game and we are optimistic to scoring more goals here so we can go through,” Fargo said.

The team’s captain, Pat-Neville Uanivi re-echoed the same sentiments about their intent to eliminate the Uganda Premier League defending champions.

“We are carrying the result from home and it does not mean we are here for a draw. We are here for the win because our target is reaching the group stages,” Uanivi said.

The Uganda Premier League defending champions to Nambia’s African Stars in their preliminary round game of the   CAF Champions League played at the San Nujoma Stadium in the capital Windhoek two weeks ago and will on Friday be looking for a one nil win over the visitors.

KCCA FC coach Mike Mutebi recently said there is still hope for his team to qualify for the 2nd final qualifier round of the Caf Champions League.

“Of course, there is a lot of hope. We conceded soft goals because of carelessness and not because the opposition were better. Yes, they were at home and used their advantage well,”Mutebi said after the game in Windhoek.

“We know they are going to come and play in the second leg. But ours is well cut out. If we can put away the chances we get then we can proceed to the next round.”
