Eid el Fitr shall be celebrated tomorrow, the director of Sharia at Old Kampala, Sheikh Yahaya Ibrahim Kakungulu announced a few minutes ago.
Kakungulu urged Muslims to celebrate Eid responsibly and avoid anything that would taint the day.
He congratulated the muslims upon completing the month of Ramadhan.
Initially, the Supreme Mufti Sheikh Kasule Ndirangwa from Kibuli had announced that the moon had not been sighted but later after further consultations, Ndirangwa confirmed that Eid-el Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow.
Ndirangwa urged muslims to express happiness and to be grateful that they had completed Ramadhan.
He urged Muslims to offer Zakat-el-Fitr to help the needy.
