Parliament approves shs 33 billion extra budget for state house and Museveni's field tours
Parliament has approved an additional budget of Shs 33 billion for State House and President Museveni's on going field tours.
According to the documents, the 33 billion shillings will include Shs 17.6 billion for the president's ongoing field tours countrywide and a classified expenditure of Shs 15.7 billion.

Minister of State for Planning David Bahati tabled the request on the floor of Parliament arguing that this money will be used to feed, transport and accommodate President Museveni and his team while on his ongoing field tours that he says are meant to sensitize the public on wealth creation.
The president has so for the last three to four weeks toured areas West Nile, Bunyoro, Tooro and Northern Uganda addressing rallies and commissioning infrastructure.
Parliament had in this ending financial year (2018/2019) passed Shs. 249 billion for these field operations and this comes at a time when the country is counting weeks to the 2019/2020 financial year budget reading.
Opposition members of Parliament, MP Cecilia Ogwal and Muwanga Kivumbi said that the president is using his field tours to engage in early campaigns and NRM party should fund these tours instead.
They said that the President should stop using the tours to preach politics.
The approval also comes at a time when teachers are on strike due to the government's failure to fulfill its promises of clearing their arrears.
