Afrigo Band set for Uganda Festival in New York

Uganda’s legendary band- Afrigo, will join a start studded artistes line up at the upcoming Uganda Festival and Business Expo in New York.

Organised by Ugandans in the diaspora under their umbrella body UNAA Causes, the annual festival and business expo is dubbed the summer’s ultimate event. This year’s event will be held at the Iconic Grand Hyatt - New York Hotel, from August 29th - September 2nd in Manhattan.

UNAA Causes formed out of an acrimonious split of UNAA after the bitterly contested 2013 elections in Dallas, Texas has surprised even it's critics and admirers alike by building arguably Uganda Diaspora's top Program, they featured Afrigo Band last year in Washington D.C, plus top African artistes; PSquare, Diamond Platnumz, Rudeboy among others in previous years.

Afrigo band now returns to the lineup, having left revellers relishing in their previous entertainment episode last year.

The band’s co-director James Wasula, confirmed their presence, promising a very electrified performance in New York.

“The quality of our product distinguishes us. Our entertainment is impeccable, and that is what we can promise our fans,” he said.

Speaking to Nile Post, UNAA Causes chairman James Sserumaga said the band was ‘highly demanded’ based on their previous performance.

“There is only one 'legendary' band; just one show and all will be exclusive at the Uganda Festival in New York,” he said.

Serumaga also invited Ugandans around the World to come and enjoy the World's most exciting City - New York.

“We have so much in New York, Business Tours of New York, the New York Business Expo, Fashion Weekend- a top Diaspora destination for designers plus lots of entertainment at the upscale Grand Hyatt.”

The Festival has already lined up artistes; David Lutalo, Cindy Sanyu, Denmark based Joanita Lubega Zachariassen, Vinka, Fik Fameica, Chosen Becky, Spice Diana, Gospel Musician Levixone, Zanie Brown, Shasha Brighton and Minah Izah.

Also available are two other live bands to back up performers: One band led by Myco Ouma and Joseph Sax while the other is Denmarks best band led by Joanita Lubega Zachariassen.
